Do you ever have those moments where God takes you beyond your expectations? That's what happened to me today. I was sitting in a job interview and thinking, "I can't take this job unless they offer me at least $7.50 an hour." They offered me the job and $9.00 an hour! So, of course I took the offer and am now employed for the holiday season! I'm grateful and eager to get out and about. I'm working in the men's department at Dillards, a department store in a near-by mall. So, if you ever need to be measured for a suit, I can help you out (in a couple of weeks).
I had a friend that I haven't heard from in about 4 or 5 years call me out of the blue today. She and her husband live about 15 minutes away from me! I'm going to visit her tomorrow. I look forward to reconnecting with her.
This weekend I'm traveling to Vevay, IN (south-eastern tip) to speak and sing at the Markland Women's Conference. It's a small conference that a friend of mine has asked me to come to. My prayer is that I can encourage these women with my story of the way the Lord is calling me to surrender my life daily to Him and His Glory.
It looks like I can begin planning on moving back to the Wheaton area after Christmas. More details to come on that...

Looking forward to spring already!
Just returned from a weekend in Wheaton. So many things on my mind now.
The most exciting is that Nicole and Neile (HoneyRock friends) got engaged this weekend!!! So great! We're all gearing up for a March wedding.
I was blessed to be with my friends this weekend and to hear the wonderful story of how the proposal was pulled off. I love those people!
And, this is why I have so many things on my mind now.
My pastor in Wheaton has offered for me to live in her basement, rent-free for an extended length of time. It's quite a generous offer that I am not able to ignore. I also learned this weekend that I will most likely not be leaving in March as I've originally hoped. It looks like the process for attaining a visa is taking longer this year; in order for me to leave in March, I would need to have the majority of my money by the end of this month. I know that God can do amazing things, and I'm not doubting that He will. But it does appear as if March will not be my month for departing to Japan. I can't say that I'm too sad, as a wedding will be happening that I wouldn't miss for anything.
So, keep reading. I might be moving back to Chicago soon.
